THERESA A. MORRIS

I became a lawyer because I believe everyone deserves someone in their corner. With a background in medicine and military service, I approach every case with compassion, persistence, and the drive to make a real difference.

Meet Your Advocate: A Different Path to the Law

I didn’t take the traditional route into the legal profession. Before becoming an attorney, I worked as a physician assistant in medicine and urgent care, places where I met people on the hardest days of their lives. In those moments, I learned how important it is to be calm, compassionate, and determined when the stakes are high. That same drive carries over into my legal practice today.

My decision to pursue law came from a deep belief that everyone deserves a strong advocate, especially when facing overwhelming systems like the courts, the VA, or the complex world of estate planning. I see the person first, not just the case.

Your First Step Starts Here

Every case starts with a conversation. Contact Rock City Defender to share your story and take the first step forward.

Criminal Defense Rooted in Understanding

Most of my practice is focused on defending people accused of crimes. From DWIs and traffic tickets to drug cases, theft, and serious felonies, I take every charge seriously because I know how much is on the line.

Having worked as a prosecutor for both the City of Little Rock and Pulaski County, I understand how the other side thinks and builds cases. That insight allows me to anticipate strategies, challenge assumptions, and design strong defenses. For me, it isn’t just about arguing the law, it’s about making sure clients know someone is truly in their corner.

Advocacy for Veterans

As a Marine Corps veteran who served on active duty and in the reserves, I know the sacrifices service members make, and the frustrations that come when the VA puts up barriers to benefits. Helping other veterans fight for the care and recognition they’ve earned is deeply personal to me. Representing those who have served is not just part of my practice, it’s an honor.

Where Law and Medicine Overlap

My Medical Background gives me a perspective few attorneys share. Whether it’s evaluating medical evidence in a criminal case or understanding the health-related challenges veterans face, I can connect the dots between law and medicine. That knowledge often helps me present a fuller, more accurate picture in court, one that highlights the humanity of my clients instead of reducing them to a charge or a claim number.

Estate Planning with Heart

I’ve seen firsthand how stressful it can be when families are left without guidance after a loved one passes. That’s why I make estate planning accessible, affordable, and easy to understand. Whether it’s a will, trust, power of attorney, or advance directive, I help families across Arkansas protect their future and find peace of mind.

A Lifelong Commitment to Learning

I’ve always believed in continuous growth. I helped launch the Physician Assistant Program at UAMS as part of the inaugural faculty, and I carry that same passion for teaching and learning into my legal career. I go beyond Arkansas’ continuing education requirements, stay current with emerging legal technology, and even use AI tools to sharpen my casework. Some may call it being a nerd, I call it being dedicated to giving my clients the best possible representation.
